Dr. Javonna O’Brien is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in chronic pain and addiction medicine. She focuses on a patient-centered approach to improve the quality of life of her patients while helping them reach their optimal level of functioning. Dr. O’Brien has over 18-years of experience in the nursing profession. She has a passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of nurse practitioners and is also an assistant professor.
She received her training as a family nurse practitioner at Bowie State University and continued her doctoral education at Chatham University in Pittsburg, PA. Dr. O’Brien has a special interest in geriatrics and has a published journal article about elderly fall reduction. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association for Nurse Practitioner Support.
Dr. O’Brien loves to spend time with her three boys and enjoys “movie night” with her family. She is a devout animal lover and with 3 cats, 1 dog, and 1 rabbit.
